House Guest

Guess who’s back?

Jane, of White Elephant fame, did the smart thing and adopted Pepper recently. However, while Jane is out of town this weekend, we are dogsitting my favourite lady.

Also Sean’s favourite lady, no matter what kind of tough guy BS he tries to unload on you about how “she’s all right.”

Does that look like bliss on his face, or does that look like bliss on his face?

Anywhooooo, I’m starting to come out of the Hillside coma and am firing up the mallet for some custom orders tomorrow. New work all next week.

West Coast Belle

The Western Belle Cuff.

A tasty piece, stained shades of fudge and caramel. Hints at your cowgirl heart without being too “ten-gallon hat” about it.

New and Newer

Still slogging through catching up, but here are a few shots of some of the new stuff that’s slowly making its way into the Etsy shop…

Silent Sigh

I moved my studio yet again yesterday and am totally burned out by the crazy of trying to fit our living space into three rooms instead of eight (we’re going to be living exclusively on the main floor come September), so I’m sticking to pretty mindless work right now. That’s all my head can handle after the last couple months. I will, however, have a few custom orders on the site by the end of the week.

In the meantime, check out the Etsy shop where I’m slowly adding Hillside leftovers. I plan to photograph a ton of stuff tomorrow so the updates will come more quickly.

Finally, I can’t wait to start working on the deck I bought for Loose Canon‘s skateboard show. It is so amazing on its own I almost don’t want to paint it, but I think it’s going to turn out pretty wicked. I’ll post photos by August 6th.

I don’t have any photos of any of the music I saw, but if you want a behind-the-scenes look at the thrilling lives of festival vendors, you’ve come to the right place…

…hold on to your hats because it starts with a mile-a-minute smoke break on a box full of extra merch! This is Rachel, who was helping out with the Peep Design booth next door. She’s a pilot/artisan who makes very cool quilted and felted bags, bracelets, headbands and more.

This is Peep, including Liz (designer) in the background. Liz does upcycled, screen printed T’s, bags, ties, necklaces and brooches. She also designed my logo and business card.

Karin “the German” (aka the Canadian Heidi Klum) Pilz, modelling my Flora & Fauna Corset Belt.

That feisty little peacock SOLD suckers! I’ll miss him, but he went to a very good home. I can tell his new owner will treat him right.

NOM NOM NOM. That’s all folks.
